Abstract
"DISPOSITIVO RETENTOR DE SEMENTES RADIOATIVAS". Um aparelho (10) é descrito, o qual, de uma maneira eficaz reabastece um aplicador braquiterápico com sementes radioativas (18). Um sistema de retenção de sementes (10) inclui um retentor (12) e um dispositivo de transferência (46). O retentor (12), o qual pode ser descartável, armazena as sementes radioativas (18), e o dispositivo de transferência (46), que pode ser reutilizável, ajuda na proteção e dispensa das sementes (18). O retentor (12) é acoplado ao dispositivo de transferência (46), e o aparelho (10) se casa com um aplicador (96). Depois de todas as sementes (18) terem sido dispensadas, o aparelho (10) pode ser desconectado do aplicador (96) e o retentor vazio (12) pode ser ejetado a partir do dispositivo de transferência (46), e substituído por um retentor cheio (12).
