A presente invenção refere-se a uma modificação cristalina definida de ácido 8-ciano-1-ciclopropil-7-(IS, 6S-2,8-diazabiciclo [4.3.0]nonan8-ila)-6-flúor-1,4-dihidro-4-oxo-3-quinolincarboxílico da fórmula (I), a processo para sua produção, bem como seu uso em preparações farmacêuticas. A modificação cristalina é diferenciável de outras modificações cristalinas de ácido 8-ciano-1-ciclopropil-7-(IS, 6S-2,8-diazabiciclo [4.3.0]nonan-8-ila)-6-flúor-1,4-dihidro-4-oxo-3-quinolincarboxílico da fórmula (I) por seu difractograma de pó de raios X característico e seu termodiagrama diferencial.
