Abstract
Esta invenção se refere a processos de oxidação de hidrocarbonetos, como ciclohexano, o-xileno, m-xileno e pxileno, para formar um respectivo ácido, como ácido adípico, ácido ftálico, ácido isoftálico e ácido tereftálico, por exemplo, por introdução na mistura de reação de pequenas quantidades críticas de fluorocompostos. Fluorocompostos preferíveis são perfluoroácidos, por exemplo, ácido perfluoroacético, ácido perfluorobutírico e ácido perfluorooctanóico. Com a introdução de quantidades críticas dos fluorocompostos, a reatividade aumenta, sem sacrificar o rendimento e/ou a seletividade.
