"BATERIA DE METAL/AR CILÍNDRICA COM UM CATODO DE AR PERIFÉRICO CILÍNDRICO". Uma pilha cilíndrica de metal-ar tem um alojamento cilíndrico, um catodo de ar cilíndrico que se estende axialmente adjacente a uma superfície interior do alojamento, e diversos plenos alongados definidos entre o eletrodo de oxigênio e a superfície interior do alojamento. Passagens isolantes são posicionadas entre o meio ambiente e cada um dos plenos, e um dispositivo deslocador de ar é operável para forçar ar através das passagens isolantes e para dentro de pelo menos um dos plenos. O dispositivo deslocador de ar pode ser um ventilador micro-usinado controlado por um circuito integrado ao alojamento do ventilador.
