Trata-se de disposição construtiva aplicada a todos os tipos de assentos, tais como cadeiras dos mais diversos tipo, bancos, poltronas, sofás, carteiras escolares etc, nas quais a parte anterior do assento apresenta uma inclinação de até 15 para cima, preferencialmente 4 a 6 , e o encosto, levemente inclinado para trás, apresenta curva correspondente à curva lombar, com ângulo de 32 a 52,5 , preferencialmente 42 a 52 .
