As vantagens do criador é de grande importância ambiental e econômica. Este tipo de criação garante ao criador fazer a despesca o ano inteiro, sem a ameaçar a espécie.O criadouro é delimitado por divisória que permite ao criador separar o crustáceo de acordo com o seu desenvolvimento. Outra vantagem é de não precisar fazer pescas predatórias em alto mar ameaçando a espécie de extinção.
