Compreendido por um reator (16) dotado de núcleo de ferro (11), comutador de TAPS com regulagem (8) externa de indutância e resistência, acondicionado num invólucro (1) e imerso em óleo isolante, cujo funcionamento consiste na combinação da indutância produzida pelo reator e a capacitância produzida pelos capacitores, formando um circuito ressonante que consome as correntes e tensões harmônicas de rede elétrica de alta ou baixa tensão.
