Um forno de cal rotativo (1) compreendendo um corpo tubular de forno de cal (2) tendo uma primeira extremidade (3) compreendendo um queimador (5) e uma segunda extremidade (4) adaptada para receber cal a ser queimada no forno de cal rotativo (1). Um injetor de gás de reforço (20, 20a, 20b) é arranjado abaixo do queimador (5), em uma parte inferior (7) do forno de cal (1). Também é descrito um método para controlar a estabilidade da chama em um forno de cal rotativo (1).
