A cor da espuma de flotação (3) é determinada iluminando a espuma (3), capturando uma imagem digital da espuma (3) em um sensor de luz multiespectral (6), e usando intensidade de reflexão especular de uma fonte de iluminação (1) de interfaces gás-líquido em bolhas de espuma de flotação na espuma (3), como referência branca para calibrar diferentes bandas de comprimento de onda do sensor de luz (6).
