A presente invenção refere-se a uma composição de redução e/ou inibição da carbonilação de proteínas, incluindo polilisinas. E também é aqui fornecido um método de proteção da pele dos estímulos de carbonilação através do uso de uma composição incluindo polilisinas, e um método cosmético não terapêutico para cuidar de materiais de queratina, especialmente a pele, mediante a aplicação da composição de redução e/ou inibição da carbonilação de proteínas, incluindo polilisinas.
