Abstract

Sistemas e métodos para melhorar a respiração desordenada do sono são fornecidos, incluindo o fornecimento de um sinal de neuromodulação estimulante para um ansa cervicalis que estimula a ativação da ansa cervicalis inervando um ou mais músculos infra-hióideos . Um sinal de neuromodulação de bloqueio para a ansa cervical pode ser administrado que bloqueia a ativação de fibras eferentes que inervam um ou mais músculos supra-hióideos . O sinal de neuromodulação de bloqueio pode mitigar a ativação eferente retrógrada indesejada de um ou mais músculos supra-hióideos.
