A presente invenção reivindicada é direcionada a uma composição alimentar compreendendo pelo menos um verme vivo, em que o verme está livre de patógenos selecionados a partir do grupo consistindo em espécies de salmonella, espécies de campylobacter, histomonas meleagridis e qualquer combinação de dois ou mais dos mencionados acima.
