A presente divulgação refere-se a uma composição de óleo biodisponível em que pelo menos 20% por % em peso de seu teor total de lipídios compreende lipídios polares, como glicolipídios ou fosfolipídios, pelo menos 30% em peso de seus lipídios polares compreende glicolipídios e não mais que 4% por % em peso da composição do óleo é composta por espécies de clorofila. Formulações contendo e métodos para produzir as referidas composições de óleo a partir de óleos ou extratos de algas também são divulgados.
