A presente invenção se refere ao uso de uma composição que compreende pelo menos uma carga mineral que tem propriedades de absorção e/ou emissão na região do infravermelho distante na faixa de comprimento de onda de 2 micrômetros a 20 micrômetros dispersada em uma composição polimérica biodegradável no mar para melhorar a biodegradabilidade marinha da dita composição polimérica biodegradável no mar.
