A invenção refere-se a um material com propriedades retardadoras de combustão compreendendo um sal retardador de combustão e um material gerador de aerossol. Também se refere a consumíveis que compreendem o material, e sistemas de fornecimento de aerossóis não combustíveis compreendendo tais consumíveis. A invenção refere-se ainda a um método para fabricar o material com propriedades retardadoras de combustão e o uso de um sal retardador de combustão para retardar a combustão.
