A presente invenção refere-se a uma área de espaço (1) para uma aeronave, que compreende um dispositivo de desinfecção (3) para desinfetar pelo menos uma superfície (4) da área de espaço (1), sendo o dispositivo de desinfecção (3) projetado para desinfetar a superfície (4) da área de espaço (1) usando radiação UVC (5). O dispositivo de desinfecção (3) compreende um dispositivo de iluminação (6) para gerar e emitir a radiação UVC (5), em que o dispositivo de iluminação (6) é portátil e o dispositivo de iluminação (6) é estacionário e disposto em um estado ativo.
