A divulgação se refere a composições contendo tiossulfo, em particular, tiossulfonato de propil-propano (PTSO) e tiossulfinato de propil-propano (PTS). Tais composições são úteis para tratar infecções e reduzir ou degradar biofilmes tanto in vivo como in vitro. Em particular, tais composições são úteis no tratamento de distúrbios relacionados ao biofilme, incluindo, mas não limitado a mastite, dermatite digital e infecções crônicas de feridas.
