São apresentados sistemas, métodos, aparelhos, ou meios legíveis por computador para realizar procedimentos de posicionamento. Um dispositivo de comunicação sem fio pode receber, a partir de um nó de comunicação sem fio, informações para facilitar posicionamento do dispositivo de comunicação sem fio. O dispositivo de comunicação sem fio pode determinar para iniciar um procedimento de posicionamento enquanto em estado inativo de controle de recursos de rádio (RRC). O dispositivo de comunicação sem fio pode realizar, enquanto em estado inativo de RRC, o procedimento de posicionamento.
