NOVO MATERIAL DE LEITO PARA FRAGMENTAÇÃO TERMOLÍTICA DE AÇÚCARES.A presente invenção refere-se a um processo para fragmentação termolítica de um açúcar em uma composição que compreende oxigenados C1-C3. Em particular, refere-se ao uso de partículas carreadoras de calor fornecendo rendimentos melhorados de oxigenados C1-C3 e características de fluidização melhoradas tornando-as adequadas para a produção em escala industrial de, por exemplo, glicolaldeído. Refere-se também a um sistema de leito fluidizado circulante que compreende as partículas carreadoras de calor.
