O conjunto de seringa (14) contém um tubo (16) e um êmbolo (18). O êmbolo (18) tem uma abertura de furo (26) que é acessível de dentro do tubo (16). Um espaçador tubular (40) é disposto dentro do tubo (16). O espaçador tubular (40) define uma abertura central (42). A cabeça de agulha (12) tem uma agulha (30) que se estende de uma base de agulha (36). A base de agulha (36) se estende para o espaçador tubular (40). Um plugue (28) é fornecido para bloquear o acesso à agulha (30). O plugue (28) é deslocado para fora do espaçador tubular (40) e para dentro da abertura de furo (26) no êmbolo (18). Conforme o plugue (28) é deslocado, o plugue (28) é transferido para a abertura de furo (26) dentro do êmbolo (18).
