Abstract

COMPOSIÇÃO POLIMÉRICA RETARDANTE DE CHAMA E MÉTODOS DE USO. Uma composição polimérica resistente às chamas compreendendo uma combinação mineral misturada por fusão em uma matriz polimérica é descrita. A combinação mineral compreende um carbonato alcalino terroso, caulim e hidróxido de magnésio. A matriz polimérica pode compreender acetato de etileno-vinila e polietileno, e peróxido de dicumila também pode ser adicionado. A composição polimérica resistente às chamas mostra uma classificação de inflamabilidade UL94 de V-0 ou V-1, sem conter halógenos ou hidróxido de alumínio. A composição polimérica resistente às chamas pode ser adequada como um revestimento de fios ou para resistência passiva ao fogo em veículos e construções.
