A presente invenção refere-se ao uso de um polipeptídeo estrutural tal como polipeptídeo derivado de seda (preferivelmente polipeptídeo derivado de teia de aranha) para revestimento de semente, planta ou parte de planta, preferivelmente para proteger contra infestação de pragas. A presente invenção refere-se ainda a um método para revestimento de plantas ou revestimento de sementes de plantas e a uma planta ou semente de planta revestida com um polipeptídeo estrutural.
