Abstract
A presente invenção se refere ao uso de prills de ácido benzoico na indústria alimentícia. Apesar de ter uma razão entre área superficial e volume reduzida, os prills de ácido benzoico, conforme usados no contexto da presente invenção, liberam ácido benzoico mais rapidamente do que flocos de ácido benzoico. As composições que compreendem esses prills são úteis para equilibrar a microflora no sistema gastrintestinal de um animal, para acidificação de alimento e/ou urina, e/ou para reduzir transtornos digestivos de um animal.
