Abstract
''MODIFICAÇÃO DE GLUTAMINA SINTETASE PARA MELHORAR O RENDIMENTO EM PLANTAS''.Trata-se de composições que compreendem polinucleotídeos que codificam polipeptídeos de glutamina sintetase (GS) que têm propriedades melhoradas, tais como atividade enzimática aumentada e/ou termoestabilidade aumentada. Também são fornecidos construtos de DNA recombinante, plantas, células vegetais, semente, grão que compreendem os polinucleotídeos. Adicionalmente, vários métodos para empregar os polinucleotídeos em plantas, tais como métodos para aumentar atividade de GS em uma planta, métodos para aumentar teor de proteína de semente em uma semente de uma planta e métodos para aumentar rendimento de uma planta, também são fornecidos no presente documento.
