A presente invenção refere-se a métodos e composições relacionados ao tratamento ou à prevenção de inflamação induzida pela terapia do câncer, dermatite e/ou cicatrização. Em modalidades particulares, um ou os mais inibidores de bomba de prótons são providos a um indivíduo antes, durante e/ou depois de receber a terapia anticâncer. Em algumas modalidades, um ou mais inibidores de bomba de prótons são providos a um indivíduo antes, durante e/ou depois de ter condições de saúde, alergias, fatores genéticos e/ou exposição a um ou mais agentes irritantes.
