A presente invenção refere-se aos compostos químicos que modulam a atividade da pantotenato quinase (PanK) para o tratamento de desordens metabólicas (tais como diabetes mellitus do tipo II), desordens neurológicas (tais como neurodegeneração associada à pantotenato quinase), às composições farmacêuticas que contêm tais compostos, e ao seu uso no tratamento.
