Composições e métodos para a formação de sistemas de resina epóxi são providos. Em uma modalidade, é provida uma composição para um sistema de resina epóxi incluindo uma blenda de resina epóxi compreendendo uma resina epóxi, um primeiro agente de cura selecionado a partir do grupo de um poli(alquilfosfonato de arileno), um poli(arilfosfonato de arileno), e combinações dos mesmos, e um segundo agente de cura.
