Abstract
Uma camada feita de, ou contendo, óxido de zircônio subestequiométrico é depositada por bombardeamento com íons sobre um substrato vítreo por meio de um alvo de bombardeamento iônico cerâmico inclusivo de óxido de zircônio subestequiométrico que é feito de, ou contém, ZrOx. O artigo revestido, com a camada inclusiva de ZrOx subestequiométrico no substrato vítreo, é então tratado termicamente (por exemplo, termicamente temperado) em uma atmosfera que contém oxigênio, o que faz com que a camada inclusiva de ZrOx subestequiométrico se transforme em uma camada resistente a arranhões feita de, ou contendo, óxido de zircônio estequiométrico ou substancialmente estequiométrico (por exemplo, ZrC2), e faz com que a transmissão de luz visível do artigo revestido aumente significativamente.
