Abstract
A presente invenção refere-se ao uso cosmético de um extrato de pericarpo da planta Nephelium lappaceum para manter e/ou aumentar a hidratação e/ou o efeito barreira da pele e/ou membranas mucosas. O extrato de pericarpo aumenta a síntese de involucrina e o teor de ácido hialurônico e a síntese de ATP e do transportador de taurina TAUT. A invenção também se refere ao processo de cuidado cosmético compreendendo a aplicação tópica do extrato de pericarpo de N. lappaceum. Finalmente, a invenção se refere ao extrato de pericarpo para uso, em particular uso dermatológico, no tratamento e/ou prevenção de patologias causadas por um estado de secura anormal da pele e/ou das membranas mucosas.
