Trata-se de uma película microporosa que compreende: 75% em peso ou mais de uma resina de polietileno de alta densidade que tem uma densidade de 0,957 g/cm³ a 0,970 g/cm³, um índice de fusão de 0,2 a 10 g/10 minutos, uma distribuição de peso molecular, Mw,cc/Mn,cc, maior ou igual a6,0, e um Mz,abs maior ou igual a 500.000 g/mol, em que a película microporosa é orientada na direção de máquina e exibe um taxa de transmissão de vapor de água normalizada maior que 1.469 kg s/m (50 g mil/(100 pol2 dia)).
