Abstract
Em um reator preparado da técnica anterior, agregados densos de microrganismos são formados, tipicamente em ou incrustados em uma matriz extracelular. Tal pode referir-se a grânulos, a entidades do tipo esféricas com uma viscosidade mais elevada do que água, glóbulos, um biofilme, etc. Os agregados densos compreendem substâncias poliméricas extracelulares, ou biopolímeros, em particular polissacáridos lineares. A presente invenção está no campo da extração de um biopolímero a partir de uma lama granular, um biopolímero fibroso obtido pelo dito processo, em particular alginato ou alginato bacteriano, e um uso do dito biopolímero.
