Abstract
A invenção fornece um processo para a hidrogenação seletiva de glicolalde-ído em uma corrente de processo que compreende glicolaldeído e um ou mais mo-nossacarídeos em um solvente, sendo que o dito processo compreende colocar a corrente de processo em contato com hidrogênio na presença de uma composição catalisadora de hidrogenação a uma temperatura de não mais que 150 °C e por um tempo de permanência de não mais que 90 minutos.
