Modalidades de acordo com a invenção incluem preservativos revestidos nos quais um material de revestimento fluido cobre praticamente todo o comprimento do preservativo e métodos para fabricar tais preservativos. Em algumas modalidades, um preservativo (100) inclui um eixo tubular (116) com uma ponta (102) em uma extremidade fechada (120) do eixo tubular e uma extremidade aberta (110) oposta à extremidade fechada no eixo tubular, e um lubrificante disposto ao longo de um comprimento do eixo tubular que se estende da extremidade aberta do eixo tubular até a ponta na extremidade fechada do eixo tubular.
