Abstract
Um revestimento de atrito para uma pastilha de freio de um sistema de frenagem inclui um corpo sólido de material de atrito tendo uma pluralidade de fendas que se cruzam em uma zona de vórtice formada com um rebaixo circular no revestimento de atrito. As fendas abrem para a zona de vórtice em locais deslocados para promover circulação de ar dentro da zona de vórtice. As fendas se estendem ao longo de um arco horizontal que segue a curvatura de um rotor do sistema de frenagem quando em uso. Fendas verticais podem também podem ser incluídas que também se abrem para a zona de vórtice em locais deslocados.
