A liga de aço tem a seguinte composição, em porcentagem em peso: de cerca de 0,15 a cerca de 0,30 de C, de cerca de 1,7 a cerca de 2,3 de Mn, de cerca de 0,7 a cerca de 1,1 de Si, de cerca de 1,85 a cerca de 2,35 de Cr, de cerca de 0,5 a cerca de 0,9 de Ni, de cerca de 0,1 a cerca de 0,3 de Mo+1/2W, de cerca de 0,3 a cerca de 0,7 de Cu, de cerca de 0,2 a cerca de 0,5 de V+5/9xNb. O balanço da liga é ferro, impurezas usuais, e quantidades residuais de outros elementos adicionados durante fusão para desoxidação e/ou dessulfuração da liga. Divulga-se também um artigo de aço temperado e endurecido feito a partir da liga.
