Abstract
A presente invenção provê dispositivos e métodos que podem prevenir ou melhorar broncoconstrição estimulando atividade neural, em contraste àquelas técnicas baseadas em desnervação, ablação ou bloqueio da atividade neural. Métodos e dispositivos de acordo com a invenção podem atuar responsivamente ou sob demanda, podem preservar estrutura e função neuronal e serão associados com efeitos secundários colaterais mínimos. Em particular, a invenção provê dispositivos e métodos nos quais um sinal é distribuído para o nervo vago, por exemplo o nervo vago cervical ou o ramo pulmonar do nervo vago, a fim de estimular atividade neural no nervo vago.
