É revelada uma composição de aminoácidos para utilização no tratamento de mucosite em pacientes que sofrem de câncer da cabeça e pescoço submetidos a terapia de radiação e / ou quimioterapia, a composição caracterizada pelo fato de que compreende um agente ativo, o referido agente ativo compreendendo os aminoácidos: glutamina, leucina, isoleucina, valina, lisina, treonina, histidina, fenilalanina, metionina, triptofano, tirosina e cistina, em que a proporção em peso de glutamina: leucina está compreendida na faixa entre 4,3 e 5,3.
