CONVERSÃO DE ÃCIDOS CARBOXÃLICOS A ALFA-OLEFINAS. à divulgado um método eletrolÃtico de produção de olefinas a partir de sais de metais alcalinos de ácidos carboxÃlicos. O ácido carboxÃlico pode ser de uma variedade de fontes incluindo a biomassa fermentada que é subsequentemente neutralizada utilizando uma base de metal alcalino. O método permite a produção eficiente de olefinas incluindo alfa-olefinas assim como produtos de olefinas úteis tais como óleos sintéticos.
