Abstract
LENTE DE CONTATO OU IOL, ESPAÃO EM BRANCO DA IOL, MÃTODO DE FORMAÃÃO E COMPOSIÃÃO. Uma lente de contato ou lente intraocular (IOL) com polÃmeros de teor de água muito alto que aumentaram a estabilidade hidrolÃtica para suportar altas temperaturas tais como temperaturas de autoclave, 123 ºC ou temperaturas ainda mais altas enquanto em um ambiente aquoso compreendendo pelo menos um polÃmero compreendendo uma ou mais subunidades monoméricas compreendendo um grupo acrilamida ou metacrilamida polimerizado, pelo menos um grupo lateral compreendendo uma porção de carbono alifático substituÃda por pelo menos uma porção hidroxila, em que as uma ou mais subunidades monoméricas compreendendo um grupo acrilamida ou metacrilamida polimerizado, pelo menos um grupo lateral compreendendo uma porção de carbono alifático substituÃda por pelo menos uma porção hidroxila, compreendem pelo menos 50% em peso do polÃmero.
