Abstract
A presente invenção refere-se a métodos de controle de pragas de inseto que infestam plantas de cultura, em particular Spodoptera frugiperda (lagarta do cartucho), Lygus hesperus (percevejo da planta manchado do oeste), Euschistus heros (percevejo marrom) e Plutella xylostella (traça das crucíferas) e métodos de provisão de plantas resistentes a tais pragas. São também revelados polinucle-otídeos e moléculas de DNA recombinantes e construtos úteis em tais métodos, composições inseticidas tais como sprays tópicos contendo RNAs de filamento duplo inseticidas e plantas com resistência aperfei-çoada à infestação por estes insetos. São ainda revelados métodos de seleção de genes alvo para silenciamento mediado por RNAi e controle destas pragas de inseto.
