Abstract
Esta invenção refere-se à produção de ácido tereftálico por 1) cicloadição de 2,5 de furano substituído (tais como 2,5-bis hidroxi-metilfurano ou 5-hidroximetilfurfural) e etileno, e 2) a oxidação subsequente do produto de cicloadição desidratado para ácido tereftálico. A invenção refere-se mais particularmente às vias de base biológica em geral para produção de ácido tereftálico, a partir de carboidratos, tais como hexoses (por exemplo, glicose ou frutose).
