Abstract

ABSTRACT A crimp fitting comprises a female socket that is configured to be crimped to an end portion of a hard tube. The socket comprises an annealed annular wall that has an inner cylindrical surface portion and at least one annular sealing portion. The cylindrical surface portion lies axially between the socket opening and the annular sealing portion, and has a diameter matched to the OD of the tube. The annular sealing portion has an innermost diameter that is greater than the diameter of the cylindrical surface portion. As the end of the tube is inserted into the socket, the tube cannot slideably contact the annular sealing portion. Thus, the annular sealing portion will not be damaged by the insertion of the tube. Thereafter, the annular sealing portion is radially crimped and ultimately contacts and deforms a portion of the tube in a manner creating interlocking geometry and a pressure seal.TRADUÇÃO DO RESUMORESUMOPatente de Invenção: "CONEXÃO PARA JUNÇÃO DE TUBOS E MÉTODO DE JUNÇÃO DE TUBOS". A presente invenção refere-se a uma conexão de crimpagem que compreende um soquete fêmea que é configurado para ser crimpado a uma porção de extremidade de um tubo rígido. O soquete compreende uma parede anular recozida que tem uma porção de superfície cilíndrica interna e pelo menos uma porção de vedação anular. A porção de superfície cilíndrica fica atualização entre a abertura de soquete e a porção de vedação anular, e tem um diâmetro combinado com o O.D. do tubo. A porção de vedação anular tem um diâmetro mais interno que é maior do que o diâmetro da porção de superfície cilíndrica. Conforme a extremidade do tubo é inserida no soquete, o tubo não pode contatar de forma deslizante a porção de vedação anular. Assim, a porção de vedação anular não será danificada pela inserção do tubo. Depois disso, a porção de vedação anular é radialmente crimpada e finalmente contata e deforma uma porção do tubo de uma maneira que cria uma geometria de intertravamento e um selo de pressão.
