A presente invenção se refere a um composto de fórmula: ou sais farmaceuticamente aceitáveis do mesmo úteis como bloqueadores do canal de sódio, bem como composições contendo o mesmo, processos para prepare do mesmo e métodos terapêuticos de uso do mesmo para promover a hidratação de superfícies mucosais o tratamento de doenças, incluindo doença pulmonar obstrutiva crônica (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease COPD), asma, bronquiectasias , bronquite aguda e crônica, fibrose cística, enfisema e pneumonia.
