Abstract

Abstract A process for treating a mixed sulphidic material containing lead sulphide and at least one other metal sulphide comprises the steps of subjecting the mixed sulphidic material to selective oxidation such that lead sulphide in the material is oxidised to form an oxidised lead compound whilst substantial oxidation of the at least one other metal sulphide is avoided, and separating the oxidized lead compound from the at least one other metal sulphide. The oxidized lead compound may be separated by flotation wherein the oxidized lead compound reports to the tailings and the at least one other metal sulphide reports to the concentrate (froth).__________________________________________________________________________________RESUMO TRADUZIDORESUMOPatente de Invenção: " TRATAMENTO DE MATERIAL SULFÍDRICO". Um processo para tratar um material sulfídrico misturado contendo sulfureto de chumbo e pelo menos outro sulfureto de metal compreende as etapas de submeter o material sulfídrico misturado à oxidação seletiva de modo que o sulfureto de chumbo no material seja oxidado para formar um composto de chumbo oxidado enquanto a oxidação substancial de pelo menos outro sulfureto de metal é evitada, e separando o composto de chumbo oxidado de pelo menos outro sulfureto de metal. O composto de chumbo oxidado pode ser separado pela flutuação em que o composto de chumbo oxidado reporta aos resíduos e pelo menos outro sulfureto de metal reporta ao concentrado (espuma).
