MÃTODO PARA CONVERTER UM COMPOSTO, CULTURA SUBSTANCIALMENTE PURA DE CÃLULAS HOSPEDEIRAS E CÃLULA ISOLADA.Incorporações da presente invenção referem-se a métodos para a biossÃntese de alcanos de C7, bifuncionais ou trifuncionais na presença de enzimas isoladas ou na presença de uma célula hospedeira recombinante expressando aquelas enzimas. Os alcanos de C 7 bifuncionais ou trifuncionais são úteis como intermediários na produção de náilon-7, náilon-7,x, náilon- x,7, e poliésteres.
