Os métodos envolvem determinar o efeito de uma variedade de compostos conhecidos ou novos sobre a expressão ou a atividade funcional de uma proteÃna transportadora de glicose da atividade de um canal de K+ ativado por ATP (KATP) em uma célula oral de mamÃfero, célula gustativa ou célula heteróloga que expresse a proteÃna ou o canal.
