PROCESSO PARA PRODUZIR ETILENO GLICOL A PARTIR DE ETILENO. A invenção diz respeito a um processo para a produção de etileno glicol a partir de etileno. Uma corrente de etileno glicol compreende contaminantes de cloreto inorgânicos e o processo compreende as etapas de converter os contaminantes de cloreto inorgânicos em 2-cloroetanol por reação com óxido de etileno em uma ou mais colunas de desidratação, e remover-2-cloroetanol em uma corrente de água residual.
