A presente invenção refere-se a uma composição adequada para o tratamento de superfície de papel, em que a composição contém um agente de branqueamento fluorescente especificado com uma combinação de grupos terminais específicos, um sal de um cátion bivalente e um veículo. A composição é usada para branqueamento de papel, em particular na prensa para encolamento.
