PROCESSO PARA LIQUEFAZER UM MATERIAL CELULÓSICO. É descrito um processo para liquefazer um material celulósico compreendendo hidrolisar o material celulósico na presença de um catalisador ácido em uma mistura de solvente para produzir um produto liquefeito, em que a mistura de solvente contém água e na faixa de 5 a 95% em peso de um cossolvente e em que o cossolvente está presente em uma quantidade menor ou igual a 90% em peso com base no peso de água e cossolvente, cujo cossolvente compreende um ou mais solventes polares, e em que a mistura de solvente é pelo menos parcialmente reciclada.
