PREDIÇÃO INTER-PLANO. A invenção se relaciona a uma melhor taxa de distorção onde tal taxa é alcançada fazendo inter-relações entre parâmetros de codificação de diferentes planos disponíveis para a exploração com o objetivo de redução de redundância, apesar de sobrecarga adicional resultante da necessidade em sinalizar a informação de predição inter-plano para o decodificador. Em particular, a decisão em utilizar a predição inter-plano ou não pode ser realizada por uma pluralidade de planos individualmente. Adicionalmente ou alternativamente, a decisão pode ser feita com base em blocos, considerando um plano secundário.
